Camping
The Rez has some of the finest recreational destination campgrounds. Both RV and tent campers can find the perfect spot to sleep under the stars beside the reservoir. Our campgrounds boast swimming pools, reservoir access, fishing, and playgrounds.
Wildlife
The Rez is home to wildlife both on the shore and in the water. The water is filled with Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Bream, and Catfish. The Rez offers great fishing and hunting opportunities. The Pearl River Waterfowl Refuge is located in the upper end of the Reservoir as well.
Parks
Public Parks are the heart of the Rez community as they host many of the firework shows, marathons, family events, festivals, competitions, and parades. Visitors and residents can enjoy bike trials, pavilions, boat launches, and outdoor recreation areas.
Trails
Bike paths, hiking trails, and even paved trails perfect for running makeup the over 23 miles of multi use trails around the Rez. Discover new walking paths or take an adventure on your bike by using our trail map. Designating parking areas around the Barnett Reservoir are available. Don’t miss out on an amazing walk through nature!
Boat Access
The Barnett Reservoir is host to all kinds of water sports and boating activities. From fishing to a casual day out on the water, or pulling your kids in a tube behind the boat, the Rez is perfect for it all. Public access boat ramps and landings, public marinas, fueling stations, piers and jetties are part of what makes this possible.
Recreation
Outdoor activities are abundant around the Rez. Get your disc golf team together to use the courses on Pelahatchie Shore Park and Old Trace Park. The Rez has kayak launches and public beaches for even more fun! You can even rent a pavilion for a large gathering or simply use an available one for a picnic at the park for free.

We are dedicated to enhancing and improving the quality of life for residents and providing recreational activities for visitors. Our mission is to create a place that everyone can love and enjoy. From our events and places to the wildlife that lives in and on our shores, life on the reservoir is never boring. Rez Life is not just an organization or a group, but it is a way of life.
